The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Wednesday of attempting to foment violence during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kanpur rally a day earlier in the city’s Muslim-dominated district. Sambit Patra said that the vandals, who reportedly vandalised the car, were SP student workers, including national secretary Sachin Kesarwani. SP, according to Patra, manufactured the violent event. He stated that this was done to incite BJP workers, referring to it as the SP’s “gunda raj.” “It is apparent that Samajwadi Party employees sought to stir violence in that region because they wanted Hindu-Muslim riots so they could blame the BJP,” he claimed. SP spokespeople were unavailable for comment on the subject right away.

On Tuesday, Modi visited Kanpur to dedicate the Kanpur Metro Rail and another pipeline project. He also spoke at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur’s 54th convocation event. After PM Narendra Modi’s event in Kanpur on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh police detained five Samajwadi Party activists for vandalising a vehicle. This act was allegedly carried out with the purpose of inciting disturbances in the city. The five employees have been expelled from the Samajwadi Party as a result of this occurrence.
According to the police, PM Modi’s convoy travelled along the route going to Hamirpur in Kanpur on Tuesday. The automobile bearing the BJP flag was then smashed, and the footage of the incident went viral on social media. Ankur Patel, the Samajwadi Party’s backward class cell, is accused of plotting a disturbance in the city, according to the police. Under the plan, he put a BJP flag on his car and then looted it with pals after passing PM Modi’s procession, causing the video to become viral on social media.

The automobile was also destroyed by Sachin Kesarwani, Ankesh Yadav, Sukant Sharma, and Sushil Rajput, with Ankur Patel filming the destruction. Ankur Patel erased the video from his phone after the incident got public on social media, when the complaint was filed and the search for the culprits began. The five suspects in this case, including Ankur Patel, have been apprehended by the police. His cellphone has also been sent to the lab for analysis.
