Anurag Thakur Hits out at Akhilesh Yadav over Riots

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, who is targeting Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, stated on Saturday that riots used to happen in Uttar Pradesh during SP administration and that riots still happen under our (BJP government) rule. “Akhilesh brother, listen, you arrange riots and we participate in riots, so what’s the harm?” he replied.

Anurag Thakur, a union minister and the BJP’s co-in-charge of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, tweeted, “Akhilesh Yadav, the difference is that there used to be riots in UP during SP reign, riots in us.” Prior to this, he stated in his speech at the “MP Khel Mahakumbh” at Baraut, Baghpat, that

“What’s the harm in providing people the opportunity to advance in sports? Akhilesh Yadav claims that these MPs arrange the Khel Mahakumbh, but listen, Akhilesh brother, you make riots, and if we do riots, what’s the bad? According to Thakur, “I’m aware that the people of Baghpat are unfamiliar with riots and only believe in them. You know how to sell sports; you don’t know politics, but what could be better than a political animal promoting sports?

Later, speaking to reporters, Thakur praised MP Khel Mahakumbh, saying, “BJP MPs have carried forward Modi ji’s thinking because after the Olympics, the country wants to promote sports and sportspersons, and if every BJP MP has carried forward Modi ji’s thinking, the country will promote sports and sportspersons.” If the MPs go in this path, it will be a fresh beginning in and of itself. If MPs from throughout the nation conduct an event like this, the players will have an opportunity to speak up.
