Patna: In the second phase of Bihar assembly elections, 32.82 percent voters have exercised their franchise till the first six hours or eleven o’clock.
According to the state election office, 19.26 percent of the votes have been cast in the polling issued at 41326 polling stations of 94 assembly constituencies from 7 am on Tuesday till 11 am. In the first four hours, Muzaffarpur district recorded the highest voter turnout of 26.09 percent while Darbhanga district had the lowest 15.65 percent.
During this period, 21.99 percent in West Champaran district, 15.76 in East Champaran, 19.25 in Shivamhar, 20.22 in Sitamarhi, 18.13 in Madhubani, 15.65 in Darbhanga, 26.09 in Muzaffarpur, 24.12 in Gopalganj, 15.96 in Siwan, 16.69 in Saran, 20.33 in Vaishali, 21.76 in Samastipur, 19.01 in Begusarai, 19.57 in Khagaria, 20.08 in Bhagalpur, 20.20 in Nalanda and 18.16 percent in Patna district exercised their franchise.
In the first election of the country during the Corona period, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the voters of Bihar. People are queuing up and voting. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai cast his vote at a polling station in Karanpura in Hajipur assembly constituency. Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) National President and former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha along with his family voted at the booth at the middle school of his village Jawaz Jandaha in Vaishali district.
