There is no doubt that a Tamil film like Leo has broken several records at the box office. And that’s why it is trending on social media platforms as the film has been dubbed in several languages and also made available for the Hindi audience. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie Leo features Vijay in the main role. It also has Trisha, Arjun, and Sanjay Dutt in important roles.
The film Leo is reported to make around ₹179.85 crore, as per Sacnilk as of 23rd October 2023. These are the only domestic collections. But the film has almost made Rs 290 crores all over the world at a gross level.
Released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions, Vijay’s Leo hit theatres on 19 October 2023, Thursday. Leo witnessed an occupancy of 80.47% in Tamil, 47.05% in Telugu, and 22.35% in Hindi. In the Telugu market, Leo is contending with Anil Ravipudi’s action movie Bhagwant Kesari, which features Nandamuri Balakrishna. The film has earned only ₹31 crore in India and ₹45 crore worldwide after three days. In Hindi language, Leo is competing with new movies like Ganapath and Yaariyan 2, and holdover movies that are still running successfully in theatres like Fukrey 3 and Jawan.
Leo is said to be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which also includes movies like Kaithi (2019) and Vikram (2022). Earlier, Lokesh and Vijay had worked on the 2021 movie Master.
Leo got mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. The film’s story is about Leo who fights it out with the villains in order to get justice for the people from all their ill-doings.
The film has been produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy.
People liked the film Leo because, after all, it is Thalapathy 67’s film. In the film, Vijay is seen playing the role of Parthi or Leo Das, Trisha as Sathya, Sanjay Dutt as Antony, and Arjun as Harold. The film revolves around the story of Parthi who works as a cafe owner in Theog and also an animal rescuer. Leo lives in a happy family with his wife Sathya and two children Siddhu and Chintu. In a turn of events, Parthi gets into a legal mess after committing murders in self-defense. His photo in national newspapers makes him get spotted by gangster Harold Das in Telangana who informs his elder brother Antony Das.
Antony insists Parthi accept the identity of his son Leo who is a mass murderer. However, Parthi and his family deny him being Leo. In a turn of events, Parthi fights out with Harold and Antony who really have a bad past and masterminds behind a lot of illegal activities and unethical work. Parthi then reveals that he is only Leo to the audience of the film and removes all the evidence against him. However, at the end of the movie, Parthi gets a call that someone has the proof that he himself is Leo.
If you haven’t watched the film Leo in theatres yet, no worries as you can watch it on the OTT platforms Netflix and Sun-Nxt whenever it gets released.
