The death of actor Sanchita Ugale has taken a new turn after her cousin brother, Akash Satish Ugale, made serious allegations about mental harassment and pressure from people connected to the casting industry.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Akash claimed that the 22-year-old actor was going through emotional stress and had been mentally disturbed. He alleged that some people from the casting circuit were harassing her, which left her deeply upset.
Akash said that Sanchita maintained a private Instagram account and had recently shared a reel related to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to him, the post suggested that she may have been struggling with thoughts and concerns similar to those associated with the late actor’s death.
He claimed that the entertainment industry can be intimidating and alleged that powerful people often create pressure on newcomers. Akash urged authorities to conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sanchita’s death.
Sanchita Ugale was found unconscious at her residence in Nalasopara East on June 14. Her family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Following a complaint filed by her father, Machhindra Ugale, police registered an Accidental Death Report under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. Officials said they are investigating the case from all possible angles and that the probe is currently underway.
Sanchita was known for playing Diya Tandon in Kumkum Bhagya. She also appeared in Wagle Ki Duniya as Ruchita Jaitley and later featured in Dangal TV’s Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi alongside Sorab Bedi. She had also reportedly played the role of Tarabai in Vicky Kaushal‘s film Chhaava.
As investigations continue, the allegations made by her family have once again brought attention to concerns about pressure and mental well-being in the entertainment industry.
