You are a true leader every time you encourage your employees

EducationYou are a true leader every time you encourage your employees

Date:

Your employees are stuck at their work. They complain about cutting their salaries or increasing their targets. You hear them demeaning the company’s work culture and even the boss for not giving them proper work and recognition. You also find that your employees are no more encouraged to do their work and give you quality output. If you are really a true and genuine leader (with or without a degree), you can create a happy work culture just by one simple thing and that is called EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION.

States must recognise strength & define targets for India to become $5 trillion economy: PM Modi

Your employees are the assets to your company if you accept that fact. Employees are the most valuable resources that a company can have because humans have the tendency to be loyal, and committed and come to aid when every other resource of the company falls. Say, you have built or not built your company but have been appointed as a manager or a team leader or a boss. Your responsibility apart from increasing the company turnover also has major importance and that is to keep your employees happy and satisfied in whatever they do.

What is Thought Leadership?

For example, if you have a team of marketing specialists who makes calls on a daily basis to clients so that they can convert the sales calls to leads and eventually payment comes to your company’s account. Just a paycheck is not important to keep your employees happy. And appreciating only the person who has got the maximum sales also will not keep the whole bunch of your employees hooked to the workplace. What meaningful contribution are you doing to help each employee working in your organization lead a good life is what matters the most.

When an employee falls sick, instead of calling him when he is sleeping and asking him to take up a task from home or report to the office, how about calling to ask him if he needs any health assistance? How about writing to each and every employee who is working odd hours to get the targets accomplished and telling them how much their work contribution helped you get better clients at the workplace? How about planning a team outing where each employee can show their creative side and also enjoy a gala time with each other?

Think about ideas that will keep your employees happy in overall life and not just in the workplace. If there is no thank you letter from you when an employee sits back at the office late at night just so that you can deliver the work to your client, then you are not really running a good company. Your leadership skills are at stake if one employee who is deserving a promotion is ignored to give another employee a better position and pay in your company.

The more you appreciate and apologize to your employees for doing and not doing the right things to them, the more you are going to lose them eventually. So, pack up your bag and take that extra leadership class online to know how to give recognition to your employees in different, simple, and meaningful ways. You will be remembered as a true leader by at least one employee when they retire and that should be your goal for all the huge efforts that you take and make in your leadership journey.
