Chennai: In a statement, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said that schools were instructed to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) after the reopening of schools. Accordingly, only 25 students will be allowed per class.
Also, the state government has decided to make hostel facilities available.
The Chief Minister also said all students shall be provided with Vitamin and Zinc tablets by the Health Department to boost their immunity system.
According to the fresh SOP, all students and teachers will have to wear face masks compulsorily inside and outside the school premises.
In addition, hand sanitizers — supplied by the Health Department to all government schools—shall be provided in all classrooms.
