You need not ignore those comments but instead write them down and ensure to know what are your superpowers. What are the strengths that helped you land a role in the present company? Know them and keep working on them as no one can have those strengths and experiences that you lived in your life, which can help you to get better opportunities at work and personal space as well.

You may get astonished by reading stories about successful professionals who started minting huge packages in a year’s time. But don’t feel sad as those were their destinies. If your fate makes you put efforts in a gradual manner, then so be it. You focus on your work and how you can move up your career ladder and grab the next promotion in a matter of two or three years. Remember there is no shortcut to success and immediate success gotten using unethical means doesn’t last long. So, stick to your professional values of integrity, loyalty, and transparency, and give your best at your job.

Your department may really have multiple roles to do and if you have some free time to do at work, you can sit with your colleagues of course with the permission of your manager, and learn the important skills at work.
