Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that there is something good in store for GB Pant Engineering College students who are on a hunger strike due to no admissions this year.
The minister said that the college will be a part of the proposed Skill and Entrepreneurship University and hence, will get the status of a constituent college of the university.
Sisodia also said that new courses will be launched in the engineering college also.
The announcement was made after the minister discussed at length about the university’s short-term and long-term vision with the Directorate of Higher Education.
The aim of the officials is to ensure that the university has at least 1,000 students every year registered in the university.
The college has been in news as there was no inclusion of the college in the admission counselling process in 2020 by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
Thus, the university is coming as a ray of hope for students to gain skill-based training and degrees.
