Body positivity: Easy to say, Hard to Accept

In the country like India, where the people who are becoming so called modern and stuck to the roots still actually sucks the society. You tend to accept things which you like or if we see the other round, which is good for houy. But rejects or shame the things, which is not your zone.

Body positivity is one of them.”

Why to go far, if one starts with their own family, body Shaming issues starts from there only. From the childhood phase, it comes from relatives, neighbours and especially your parents. If you are fat, you are not accepted in the society as a normal being, you are a burden to the family and the society. But if you are too skinny, it’s the same for you too, in this case, you should eat something otherwise you won’t be able to stay in the world.

I mean, why ??Just why ?? Why to body shame anyone, either fat or skinny. Starting from parents it goes to the society, which starts hampering your confidence, and self image. You feel like inferior and start feeling demotivated.

Body Shaming is not to do with the gender, it’s equally perceived same for both male and female. But in our country, it’s more towards female rather than male, all thanks to our male dominating society.

If you are bulky then your parents won’t support you in anything when it comes to marriage, it’s just weight which matters the most, not your intelligence, talent, etc. Everything goes for a toss, when it comes to weight.

In our society you can have chubby girlfriend or best friend because they are fun to be around, but wife material should have great figure, otherwise she is rejected.

I mean seriously, your weight really matters for the marriage, over your understanding, your feelings, your intelligence, your talent.

“Weight overpowers everything”

Nowadays, everyone is supporting body positivity on social media platforms. But reality is totally different or I should say it’s just the opposite.

On social media you support a fat girl/boy, but in reality you are not accepting them at all, discouraging them to move out, getting good jobs, or realising their true potential.

People are being looked down coz of their weight. Look at Indian clothing brands, a bulky person enters the showroom and the attendant say – “Sorry, we don’t have your size.” Seriously man, a person can’t enter the showroom to buy the stuff for anyone else.

And to the positive, we now have few brands, which are manufacturing goods, for so called the other gender of the society – “The Fat People”, but they are so overpriced coz they are especially made for people of that category in which more than 50% population falls in.

Wow!!! Being Fat is crime in reality but it’s okay to be you only on social media.

You can see the body positivity campaigns, memes, stories, celebraties encouraging people but still zero size figures is the best one should go for.

Think– Are we on the right track of body positivity or are we just faking about it on the social media.. Think!!!

Because it really hurts when you are being rejected coz of your weight. Your family and friends feel awkward to move around with you – as you are fat and they feel ashamed of it.
