Geneva: The World Health Organization (WHO) has hoped that the entire world will be rid of the corona virus in less than two years. This means that it will be less than the time it took for the Spanish flu to end.
“We expect the pandemic to end in less than two years,” the organization’s director general, Tedros Adenom Gabriasis, told reporters at the WHO’s headquarters in Geneva. He said that the pace of eradication of the novel corona virus will probably be faster than the 1918 epidemic.
Tedros, comparing that time to today, accepted that today the world is in a phase of globalization and hence the loss is taking place. Tedros believed that due to today’s globalization, connectivity, the corona spread rapidly throughout the world. He also said that there is better technology in the world today.
Tedros said, “With the help of the maximum use of available resources and additional equipment including vaccines, I think we can finish it in less time than the 1918 flu.”
