Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that testing labs have an important role in fighting the global epidemic like corona virus. He said that due to the decisions taken at the appropriate time and the steps taken by the Central and State Governments, it has helped a lot in preventing the infection of Corona virus. It has also succeeded in controlling it through lock down. All these efforts will prevent corona virus infection.
The Chief Minister was addressing representatives of various institutes through video conferencing in connection with Covid Lab Testing at his government residence here today. He said that the number of testing in the state was 72 on March 23, 2020, which has increased to around 3000 today. He said that in view of a state with a large population like Uttar Pradesh, the capacity of this testing will have to be increased rapidly.
The Chief Minister said that to get control of corona virus infection, the testing process has to be speeded up while accepting the challenge of testing. He said that action should be taken to establish one virology lab each in 24 state medical colleges of all 18 divisions. There is no shortage of funds for this.
The Chief Minister said that in the last one and a half months, the testing of samples in relation to corona has been increased manifold. He said that proper training and availability of PPE kits, N-95 masks should be ensured on a large scale. There is no shortage of them. Adequate funds are available for this. Additional funds will also be given as required. The fight with this transition will involve working with micro planning.
