New Delhi: Due to the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in the national capital, the Delhi government has ordered that Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will be given as a second dose only to the beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44.
In an order issued on June 6, 2021, Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev has directed the government-run vaccination centers in Delhi to give shots of Covaxin only to those who are in the 18 to 44 age group to receive the second dose of vaccination. Private hospitals and nursing homes will also have to follow this new order.
At the same time, AAP leader and MLA Atishi said on Sunday that the youth of Delhi are traveling up to 100 km to get a dose of anti-Covid-19 vaccine as the stock of vaccines for people in the age group of 18-44 in the national capital has been exhausted. Two weeks have passed. The central government has said that it will supply the vaccine for people in this age group on June 10. Atishi, during the daily vaccine bulletin, urged the central government to provide vaccines for people in this age group, saying that soon the time would come for many people to get a second dose of the vaccine.
