Oxford Vaccine to be priced at Rs 200 per dose, Serum Institute may get order today!

New Delhi: The price of Oxford vaccine approved for the rescue of Corona in the country will be Rs 200 per dose. Serum Institute is likely to receive the vaccine purchase order today. Sources gave this information on Monday. According to NDTV news, a few million doses of Covishield will be supplied every week. Initially, 11 million (one crore, 10 lakh) doses can be supplied. The government recently reported that the vaccination could be started from January 16. Two of the vaccines that DCGI has approved for limited emergency use are prepared by the Oxford University and AstraZeneca in association with the Serum Institute of India. Kovishield and includes a fully indigenous covicin developed by domestic pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign will start in the country from January 16. The central government has already made it clear that the vaccine will be first given to 3 crore health workers and frontline workers, which will be free. Vaccination of the remaining 27 crore people to be vaccinated in the first phase will start after that. Although there is no clarity on whether or not the health worker and the frontline workers will get the vaccine free.
