Schools and train services to remain shut till end of next month

Kolkata: The West Bengal government issued an order to extend the lockdown in the state to 31 July to prevent the spread of corona virus infection. During this period neither trains nor metro services will be allowed in the state. Also, schools and colleges will also be closed.

In West Bengal, 11 more people died due to Covid-19, taking the death toll to 580 due to the disease, while 370 new cases of infection have brought the number of infected to 14,728 in the state. This information was given in the bulletin of the state health department. It said that nine out of 11 patients who died had various other diseases.

The state now has treatment for 4,930 patients infected with the corona virus. 531 patients were discharged from various hospitals of the state after recovering. The recovery rate of patients in West Bengal was 62.58 percent. As of Tuesday, a total of 9,218 people have been cured of the disease in the state.
