AIIMS needs volunteers for human trials of Covaxin

New Delhi: Human trial of Corona virus’s first indigenous vaccine COVAXIN has begun. Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will start enrollment of healthy persons for the human trials of indigenous vaccine from Monday.

AIIMS, Delhi is one of the 12 institutes selected by the Indian Council of Medical Research for the Phase I and II human trials of Covaxin. The vaccine will be tested on 375 volunteers during Phase I and maximum of them will be of 100 AIIMS.

“We are starting the nomination process from Monday. We are going to select healthy volunteers who have no history of Covid-19,” said Dr. Sanjay Rai, professor at AIIMS Center for Community Medicine.

Any healthy person can participate in the human trial of the indigenous vaccine COVAXIN. Anyone wishing to participate in the trial can send an email to [email protected] or SMS or call 7428847499.
