What is Enthusiasm?

Concept of the DayWhat is Enthusiasm?

Date:

Enthusiasm is a strong feeling of interest or excitement in wanting to do something that a person desires or gets involved in. Enthusiasm is like a lively or active interest in someone or doing something. For example, a child’s enthusiasm knows no bounds when he sees a new toy at his home brought by his father. He immediately starts trying to learn to play with the toy and shows his excitement in getting a new toy. His expression of enthusiasm is quite visible on his face wherein he is smiling, giggling, and running around to show his new toy to his parents or friends.

That’s why when one faces a lack of good energy, they say that playing with a child to learn the skills of happiness and cheerfulness in whatever they do, be it learning the alphabet or doing some work on their own. Children are the best example of showing enthusiasm and one can learn from children several life lessons that others may not be able to give in reality.

Another example is how a youngster grabbed a job at his new workplace because he showed his enthusiasm in an interview. When the recruiter posed him with some questions, the man didn’t show how stressed or tensed he was. Instead, he went with all the positive energy and showed his bubbly side that he never shared with anyone. When his interview was done and he was told to ask certain questions by the recruiter, he was well-prepared wherein he had studied about the organization prior and asked the recruiter about the possibilities of the company venturing into a new market thus adding goodwill and increasing its reputation.

When the recruiter’s feedback was given, the man complimented him and also spoke quite confidently about his ideas when he would be selected for the job. Thus, the man showed his full enthusiasm in the interview by sitting straight and also finishing the process strongly.

Enthusiasm can be learned by seeing other people’s work. For example, when a college student was getting poor marks, she was told to sit beside the topper of the class. The college student learned the methods of how the topper took a keen interest in her studies by making notes after every lecture and also clearing her doubts with the professor then and there. This helped the student increase his enthusiasm for studies and also get better grades than her previous academic performance.

Enthusiasm brings more positive energy in a person and thus, it helps him to become a self-confident and independent individual. If a person lacks the enthusiasm to do any work or learn any new thing in life, he will attract a lot of negative comments and also create more problems in his life. Thus, it is important that a person should learn to be enthusiastic and develop it as a strength and inner ability rather than being bored or self-absorbed in life. Enthusiastic people are known as successful ones because they give their best in their work or any activity that they perform.
