Negativity is everywhere these days. You wake up in the morning and read your daily newspaper or switch on the radio news channel or TV news channels. You will never find any good information that will make you think that the world is a safe place to live in. Even if you love watching TV serials, you will see how the romantic tracks in the serials get changed by suspense, thriller, and horror tracks sooner or later. If you try to teach your children to be patient or kind, you will soon find examples in their schools of how children are behaving oddly or making a nuisance. If you try to be cooperative at the workplace and inform the client that the targets will be delayed to be delivered, he will immediately show his negative side rather than giving you a helping ear or hand. That’s the levels of negativity spread all over the world in recent times.

How to deal with your inner demons and overcome negativity?

So, how do we break free from this cycle of negativity and toxic life? What is the process to come out of our negative thoughts that keep cropping up in relationships at personal or professional levels? How do we emerge successful and develop a positive mindset despite all the illnesses and vulnerabilities that we are exposed to? In order to break free from negativity, you need to become aware of how you think and what are your thought patterns. You need to come to the realization of the toxic thought patterns that are affecting you the most.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

You need to learn to accept your negative thoughts as they come even if you are not willing to face them. Whenever negative thoughts arise in your mind, you need to have a positive mindset and strong belief system to challenge those toxic thoughts. You need to know how you can replace those negative thoughts with more realistic thoughts that will make you less restless and help you achieve calmness in the midst of troubled times in your life.

You need to figure out with whom you live your life and spend most of your time. If your social or family circle consists more of negative and pessimistic people, then you need to start drawing boundaries or wearing glass on your ears (not literally) of what you listen to and understand. Refocusing your thoughts and spending more time with positive people will help you to live life productively and also use your time wisely.

For example, Shailaja was more attracted to negativity since her childhood. She had wonderful creative skills but the negative comments that she was fed with since her childhood never allowed her to pursue her talents. One fine day she met a college professor who introduced her to his wife saying how talented and good-mannered girl Shailaja is. Surprised by the professor’s words, Shailaja started acknowledging her talents and removing all the limiting beliefs about herself that led her to live a mediocre life. Shailaja took time out for her hobbies whenever her mind became restless and started rehashing all the negative comments that she had heard about herself. Eventually, she broke free from the negativity in her life and started living life to the fullest.
