New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed a charge sheet against Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor, his wife Bindu and daughter Roshni in connection with the alleged bribe of Rs 600 crore from scam-ridden DHFL promoter Kapil Wadhawan.
The chargesheet filed in a special CBI court in Mumbai also names Divan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL), Wadhawan, his brother Rajesh, Belief Realtors Private Limited, RKW Developers Private Limited, DOIT Urban Ventures (India) Private Limited and prevention of corruption. The relevant sections of the Act have been imposed. Apart from this, chargesheet has also been filed against Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor and DHFL co-founders Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan.
Officials said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered a case against 12 accused, including Kapoor, on March 7. He conducted a search on March 9 and arrested Rana Kapoor and Wadhawan. The CBI had alleged in its FIR that Kapoor (62) conspired with Wadhawan for money laundering and loan from Yes Bank to DHFL reached Kapoor’s daughter’s company DOIT. The agency has alleged that during April-June 2018, Yes Bank infused Rs 3700 crore in short term debentures of DHFL.
