Mumbai. The BSE Sensex slipped more than 700 points on Tuesday afternoon due to heavy selling in banking and financial stocks led sectors.
The market, however, recovered from the ascension, and at 3 pm. The Sensex was trading at 38,308.15 levels, a decline of 359.18 points or 0.93 percent compared to its previous trade of 38,667.33. Around 2.13 pm. The index fell 737.44 points to touch an intra-day low of 37,929.89 points. It has touched a high of 38,813.48 so far.
At 3 pm, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty 50 was trading 124 points lower, or 1.08 per cent, at 11,350.45 as compared to the previous digit. Yes Bank was the biggest loser among the Sensex stocks. It lost 22 per cent and traded at Rs 32 per share. Other major losers were IndusInd Bank (down 5.5 percent), State Bank of India (4.98 percent), Bharti Airtel (4.52 percent) and ONGC (2.72 percent).
