New Delhi. A Delhi court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of Congress leader DK Shivakumar arrested in the money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate till October 15 and allowed the investigating agency to detain him in jail.
After the ED extended his judicial custody, Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar sent Shivakumar to 14 days judicial custody.
The court also allowed the ED to quiz her in Tihar Jail, where she was lodged on October 4 and 5 after ED’s special public prosecutors Amit Mahajan, NK Matka and Nitesh Rana said that Shivakumar could not be quizzed properly. Could because he was hospitalized due to various diseases. Senior advocate Dayan Krishnan, appearing for Sivakumar, said that there was no opposition to the applications of the accused. “Even on bail, I (the accused) are willing to cooperate to any extent.”
The court had on September 25 refused to grant bail to Sivakumar, stating that he was an influential person and if released could influence witnesses or tamper with the documents.
