New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das said that the second wave of Kovid-19 has had a serious impact on the Indian economy, but since the end of May, economic activity, which has been sluggish, has started picking up.
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das cautioned about the increased dangers of cyber attacks, saying that the increasing risk of data breaches and cyber attacks is worrying for the economy.
Das wrote in the Forward of the RBI’s Financial Stability Report that the economic recovery that started in the second half of 2020-21 has had a negative impact in April-May due to the second wave.
The RBI Governor said that the rate at which the rate of infection increased in the second wave of Covid also decreased rapidly and economic activity has started accelerating from the end of May and beginning of June. It has also been said in this report that the NPAs of banks remained at the same level in March 2021 as they were 6 months ago.
