BusinessFall of rupee continues, closes at 79.91 against dollar

Date:

New Delhi: The leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may give many reasons for the fall of the rupee’s value against the dollar, but the decline has continued. And there is no response to it by the Central Government. The rupee declined 13 paise to close at 79.91 (provisional) against the dollar on Wednesday. Even the Reserve Bank of India does not know how to deal with the situation, as the Indian students, studying abroad, are facing a major problem in handling the issue. The local currency opened at 79.83 and ended at 79.91, down by 13 paise over the earlier close. It settled at 79.78 against the dollar on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, when the value of the rupee fell during the rule of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government headed by former prime minister Manmohan Singh, the present Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was then the chief minister of Gujarat spared no effort to slam the government over the fall of the value of the Indian currency.
