Every year, the committee chooses a VIP to grace the function. In the past, former President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done the honors. Among celebrities and film stars, Ajay Devgn, John Abraham and last year Prabhas were there.
For the first time in the 50 years history of their event, Kangana will be that woman who will do the Ravan Dahan. Lav Kush Ramleela Committee wants to promote equal rights for women. So, women’s participation is rising in every walk of life today and there will be a long way to go by undertaking such initiatives.
In order to promote gender equality, the event organizers have come up with the burning of the effigy of Ravan by a woman. And that’s why they selected Ravana for the same.
The Women Reservation Bill aims to ensure 33 percent for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
In the meanwhile, Kangana is busy promoting her film “Tejas”, which will be hitting the theatres this Friday. Tejas has been written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and stars Kangana in the role of an Indian Air Force pilot.
Kangana’s recently released Chandramukhi 2, a Tamil movie featuring Raghava Lawrence in the male lead with Kangana playing the main role of Chandramukhi failed to create a mark at the box office. Due to negative reviews from critics and the collections below the budget, the film was declared a huge commercial failure. The film managed to collect 51.7 crores at the box office and was made in the budget of roughly 65 crores.
Kangana’s upcoming movies include Emergency and Sita: The Incarnation. These films are still in the production stage and will be hitting the theatres by the year-end or probably next year. Irrespective of the fact that Kangana’s films are able to make profits at the box office or not, she ensures to grab everyone’s attention by being vocal about her frank opinions on worldly matters.
