Shamli: A minor couple committed suicide in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Friday. The body of the 15-year-old girl who went missing from her house was found at the residence of her lover. The boy also died later. The boy was lying unconscious close to the body of the girl. He was still alive then. By the time his family members sent him to a nearby hospital, he died.

According to station house officer Karmveer Singh, the girl who lived at her maternal grandfather’s house in a village in Shamli district had an affair with the boy who lived in the same area. The couple consumed some poisonous substance and died.
