Three of family commit suicide in Agra

Date:

Agra:  Three members of a family including a minor girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from the ceiling of their room in Awas Vikas colony late Tuesday night. They were identified as Sonu, his wife Geeta and their eight-year-old daughter Shrishti whose ten-year-old brother is the sole survivor of the family, the police said on Wednesday.

According to the kin of the trio, Sonu who married Geeta about 15 years ago was living separately in the Awas Vikas Colony. He met with an accident about six years ago and began to look after his father’s business, but stopped doing work during the pandemic and lived in his parents’ house. As Sonu had no income, he had to discontinue the education of his children. (bhadraj temple)

Sonu’s mother told the police that her grandson Shyam came down in the morning refusing to go back. When she wanted to know the reason from Shyam, he said that his father, mother and sister were hanging from the ceiling of their room. The police began an investigation into the incident. But it was not known how Shyam was not part of the suicide pact, locals said.
