Bhopal: If one has strong willpower one can overcome all hurdles. A 25-year-old visually impaired software engineer from Indore in Madhya Pradesh has proved that after he received a job offer from Microsoft with a salary package of Rs 47 lakh, an official of the company said on Tuesday.

Despite being visually impaired, Yash Sonakia completed B Tech degree last year from Shri govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, a government-aided autonomous institute with flying colours. Sonakia told reports that he had accepted the offer and would join the company’s Bengaluru office. He lost his vision because of glaucoma at the age of eight. He said that after completing his studies with the screen reader software, he started searching for a job and applied at Microsoft after learning coding. He was asked to take an online test. He qualified it. The company then gave him the offer letter, Sonakia said. His father Yashpal said he had admitted his son in a school meant for special children because of glaucoma which was detected when he was born. He lost his vision completely when he was eight years old.
