Bhopal: National president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J P Nadda avoided a direct reply to the questions on price rise, joblessness and poverty in the country. Nadda made the statement at a press conference in Bhopal. The Central Government has raised 12% of people from poverty level by distributing free rations, but he did not say anything about the position of India in terms of poverty, Nadda said.

Nevertheless, according to a report, out of 116 countries, India’s position in terms of poverty is 101, which is just better than a few African and Asian countries. He further said that free rations distributed among the poor and money transferred to the accounts of farmers reduced the poverty but kept mum on the issue of unemployment.
According to reports, the government expected that the economy would grow by 8.9% in 2021-22. According to statistics, in 2020-21, the economy reduced to -6.6, so the GDP rate did not increase and the economy also did not expand.
He said also that the BJP-led government reduced the prices of petrol by Rs 8 twice but did not say anything about the percentage of hike and that of reduction. Nadda also evaded a reply to the record rise in retail inflation in the past eight years and wholesale inflation rate (WPI), which was 15.8% in April this year. It was, however, 7.89% last year.
Nadda took a dig at the Congress, saying that the grand old party is workerless in Madhya Pradesh. According to Nadda, a leader of the Congress told him that around 40 leaders are Mahamantris and over 150 are Mantris in the MP Congress Committee, but there are no workers.
About ED summons to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul, Nadda said that the issue was related to corruption and the court was looking into it, so he would not make any comment. On receiving the ED summons, the Gandhis said that they would not be cowed into submission and fight the wrong policies of the BJP till end.
Reacting to the Gandhis’ statement, Nadda said that those who are honest go to the court to get such summons cancelled, but those who are corrupt only make statements. Those who are facing charges should try to get the allegations and the bail annulled, Nadda said, adding that the Congress is no more an Indian party, nor is it a national one. It has rather turned into a brother-sister’s party, he said.

Nadda said that Madhya Pradesh has shown record growth and development during the BJP government in the last 17 years.
