Gangaur festival is celebrated majorly in Rajasthan and some parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal. The colorful festival is observed for 16 days by women of Rajasthan to pray to Goddess Gauri. In 2020, the festival will start on 10 March and end on 27 March 2020. During the festival, women worship Goddess Gauri, who is the wife of Lord Shiva. Unmarried women celebrate the festival to get a good husband and married women observe the festival for the welfare and long life of their husbands.
