At least 10 people lost their lives after a massive fire broke out at a restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Wednesday morning.

According to officials, the fire department received information about the blaze at around 9 am. Soon after, multiple firefighting teams were rushed to the spot to control the fire.

The fire reportedly broke out at the Lemon Green Restaurant.

A Delhi Fire Service official said that several firefighting vehicles, including water tenders, water bowsers, and a quick response vehicle, were deployed as part of the rescue operation.

During the operation, firefighters rescued three people from the basement of the building and shifted them to a hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.

Officials confirmed that at least 10 people died in the incident.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control and search the premises for any trapped individuals.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities have launched an investigation to find out how the blaze started.

Further details are awaited as officials continue their inquiry into one of the deadliest fire incidents reported in the city in recent times.
