Guwahati: A total of 20 people have been killed and several injured in landslides in Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts of Assam. Women, children and the elderly are also among those who die. The incident occurred in three districts of southern Assam today (June 2). A dozen people have been seriously injured in this accident, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Of the 20 people who died, seven were from Hailakandi district. The fire department has said that six people died and ten people were injured in landslides in Karimganj district of Assam. 7 people have died due to landslides in one area of Assam’s Cachar district. More information is yet to come.
