NationalRiyan Parag Faces Backlash After Viral Dressing Room Video During IPL Match

Date:

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is facing pressure to take action against Riyan Parag after a video went viral showing him allegedly vaping inside the team dressing room.

The incident reportedly happened during a match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

While Rajasthan Royals won the match by six wickets in a strong performance, the focus shifted to Parag’s behaviour off the field.

The video has led to strong reactions from fans and cricket followers. Many people said that such actions are not appropriate, especially in a team environment where young players are present.

The team includes several young cricketers, including 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, which has increased concerns about the message this behaviour may send.

The issue has also raised legal concerns. Under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act 2019, the production, sale, and use of e-cigarettes and vapes are banned in India.

Social media users have criticised the act, calling it careless and unprofessional. Many have also said that if no action is taken, it could set a wrong example.

The controversy has also brought attention to team discipline. Earlier in the season, Rajasthan Royals’ manager was fined for using a phone in a restricted area during a match.

Now, with a senior player under scrutiny, many are waiting to see how the BCCI will respond to the situation.
