Uttar Pradesh is a significant market for Catch Salt and Spices. With a widespread reach across urban and rural markets in Uttar Pradesh, Catch Salt & Spices commands one of the deepest distribution networks in the region. While urban sales account continues to be a growth driver in the region, Catch Salt & Spices is strengthening its rural presence by directly appointing partners as rural demand is accelerating at a faster pace.

Cities like Gorakhpur, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, and Varanasi continue to be the growth drivers for the region, with Tier 2 markets showing strong momentum through modern trade and quick commerce channels.

Furthermore, a dedicated team of chefs, supported by the Research and Development (R&D) team at DS Group, has been deployed to develop unique and customised products specifically for Hotels and Restaurants that cater to a premium clientele. This initiative is strategically aimed at creating specific products tailored to meet the discerning tastes and demands of this segment.

Speaking on the brand’s expansion plans, Mr Sandeep Ghosh, Business Head, Catch Salt & Spices, DS Group, said, “The spice market in Uttar Pradesh represents a significant and dynamic growth engine, defined by its scale and the accelerating consumer preference for branded quality products. As an integral part of the DS Group, Catch Salt & Spices has successfully leveraged this to its advantage coupled with a robust, strategic distribution network, thereby cultivating substantial consumer trust. The enhanced access provided by e-commerce and quick commerce further accelerates our reach. In the domains of quick commerce and e-commerce, consumer behaviour is undergoing a demonstrable shift in preferences. We have successfully mapped this evolution, and it is in leveraging this precise understanding of change that we are establishing a market lead. DS Group aims to make Catch Salt & Spices a preferred brand across all demographic segments of Uttar Pradesh, extending from major metros to the smallest town.”

The new products under the Catch brand include the premium Origins range – Lakadong Turmeric, Double Parrot Coriander and Mathania Red Chilli, alongside new Sprinkler variants like Jeeravan, Red Chilli Flakes, Freeze-Dried Oregano and Mixed Herbs. The whole spices portfolio has introduced Red Chilli, Big Cardamom, Tej Patta (Bay Leaf), Garam Masala (whole) and others.

The Catch brand was introduced by DS Group in 1987 with the launch of a revolutionary table-top Salt sprinkler and the brand has since grown to encapsulate the very essence of cooking which ranges from straight spices to myriad blends and pastes and wholes; across nine categories with more than 125 variants and 300 SKUs.
