The boy was born in a queue outside a bank in Kanpur just after demonetisation on December 2, 2016 when his mother Sarvesha Devi had gone to withdraw money under the “Lohia Awas Scheme” from a bank in Jhinjhak area in Kanpur. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav who named the boy Khazanchi promised to look after his education. So, he got the boy admitted to a school in Kanpur.

Kanpur (UP): Six-year-old Khazanchi Nath has started going to a play school in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh. This boy was born in a queue outside a bank in Kanpur city just after demonetisation on December 2, 2016 when his mother Sarvesha Devi had gone to withdraw money under the “Lohia Awas Scheme” from a bank in Jhinjhak area in Kanpur.

When president of the Samajwadi Party (SP) Akhilesh Yadav came to know of his birth, he promised to look after the boy. It was Akhilesh Yadav who named him Khazanchi which means treasurer. So, he got the boy admitted to the Rama International School at Jhinjhak area in Kanpur Dehat district.

The mother of the Sarvesha Devi said that SP had taken the responsibility of education of her son Khazanchi. He went to the school for the first time on Monday.

As soon as Yadav saw Khazanchi in school uniform, he twitted a picture of the boy and wrote: “Khazanchi Nath, who was forced to take birth in the line of demonetisation, has grown up now. We have taken the responsibility of his studies. From the power of education, other forces of personality are born. There is no greater empowerment than educational empowerment.”

Director of the school Akash Gupta said that formalities for admission had been completed on October 29 and he came to school for the first time on Monday.
