How to express confidence in working alone

EducationHow to express confidence in working alone

Date:

Lone working style or solo working is one of the upcoming work trends in the 21st century. People don’t want to work with teams either in office or remote working locations anymore. This is because nowadays, people are well-equipped with the skillset that helps them manage everything on their own. Working with team members who come from different backgrounds makes them slow down their work because they don’t feel comfortable expressing their ideas to others.

Some people like to have an independent thought process, which makes them effective in whatever they do. When such people are put in teams, they give poor quality work because they get distracted by office gossip, politics, and other things that hamper their career growth. If you are someone who finds solo working as an inspiring thing to do in your life, here are some ways you can share the same with your HR or manager.

Tips to deal with a submissive manager

1) I am comfortable being independent:

You can approach your HR or manager and share with them how you can be your own boss, your own team members, and also your own employees when it comes to the project that you are working on. You can tell them how you will complete the tasks on time because it will be designed by your own thinking pattern and not with the consultation of someone else. You can also express the pleasure and happiness that you will get when you are left alone in a cabin or an office room or at your own home to work on your ideas.

2) I will be more productive and give you good quality work:

When it comes to managing a team or working with many members, you can express how you feel less focused as there are a lot of views and different working styles that you are not comfortable with. You can show them the results of your work and how your productivity will be at the highest mode when you give them good quality work. Your achievements of working in a lone environment should be higher than working with a team – and this thing should be communicated verbally, in writing, and also through your output.

3) I can manage my errors and also bring innovation:

Many times employers or managers are insecure about giving a project to a single employee because they think about who will check out for errors. They also think about how you will get new ideas when you are just one person. But you need to promise them that you will proof-check your own work and also be willing to share better ideas to bring innovation and creativity to the project. This promise should not be just verbal but also be proven to them through your past work records.

More or less, employers or managers are interested only in the output. If you are confident that the work process that you define for them will suit you and also get them the required results, then you are a successful lone worker that any company would be willing to work with.
