As we all know, a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun, totally or partially.

Today, most cities of the country are expected to be able to view today’s partial solar eclipse. Lets take a look at the cities who will be able to see.

Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Pune will be able to view the solar eclipse

Since our childhood we have been advised to NOT watch the surya grahan with naked eye, even if momentarily and it still holds true.

Right after the festival of lights, Diwali, the world will observe a  surya grahan today. People from different parts of the globe – Europe, the Urals and Western Siberia, Central Asia and Western Asia, and from the northeast of Africa will be able to view the solar eclipse. However, it is recommended one shouldn’t even if it’s for a short while look at the solar eclipse with the naked eye. Barring some of the states of the northeastern region, most of the states in India will be able to witness this solar eclipse.

  • Mumbai: 04:49 pm to 06:09 pm
  • Chennai: 05:13 pm to 05:45 pm
  • Kolkata: 04:51 pm to 05:04 pm
  • Hyderabad: 04:58 pm to 05:48 pm
  • Bengaluru: 05:12 pm to 05:56 pm
  • Bhopal: 04:42 pm to 05:47 pm
  • Chandigarh: 04:23 pm to 05:41 pm
  • Pune: 04:51 pm to 06:06 pm
