Farrukhabad (UP): Principal-cum-manager of a school at Nawabganj under Merapur police station in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh has locked up a girl student of class 9 in a room and lopped off her locks. The police booked the principal under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act after the girl had lodged a complaint, the police said on Tuesday. The parents of the girl also met the additional district magistrate Subhash Chandra Prajapati to complain about the incident.
The girl says that if stern action is not taken against the principal, she will commit suicide, and that the accused had cut off the tresses of many other girls. In the complaint, the girl said that there had been instructions that every girl should make two braids, but when she went to school with one braid, the principal cut off her hair. According to the in charge of Merapur police station, Digvijay Singh, a case has been registered against principal of the school Sumit Yadav under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Nevertheless, the principal ran away after the incident.
