Latest study revealed that stress is the major issue that causes the habit of drunkenness in women. It’s usually because someone has had a bad day when they say, “I need a drink.”

According to new research, stress is more likely to cause heavy drinking in women than in males. However, this habit can lead to further problems that are more dangerous than stress. The problems are stated below:
Liver issues: Cirrhosis and other alcohol-related liver illnesses are more common in women than they are in men.
Effect on the Brain: Women experience alcohol-related cognitive decline and brain shrinkage at a faster rate than males.
Effect on the Heart: Women who drink excessively have a higher risk of heart muscle damage than men, even at lower levels of consumption and for a shorter period of time.

Breast and other cancers: Alcohol intake raises the risk of mouth, throat, esophageal, liver, and colon cancers. Even at low levels of intake, drinking is linked to breast cancer in women.
Sexual Violence: Heavy drinking, especially binge drinking, is a major contributor to sexual violence. Changes in alcohol-related legislation can help communities prevent sexual assault.
