Offerings collections decreased at Lord Venkateswara temple due to corona virus threat

Date:

There is an atmosphere of fear over the corona virus across the country. In such a situation, people are also reluctant to leave the house. Especially people are avoiding going to crowded places, even if there are temples. A similar view can be seen in the Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala. There has been such a decline in the number of devotees here that its revenue is beginning to be affected. The temple received an inflow of Rs 2.1 crore on Friday, its lowest this year.

Following the advisory of the central and state government, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has appealed to the devotees to come to Tirupati for darshan only 28 days after coming to India from abroad. Earlier, an offering of Rs 92.09 crore came in January. The highest offering of the month, offered on a single day on 24 January, came to Rs 4.13 crore. 88.85 crores came in February, while the highest was in 19.4 rupees on February 19.
