Date:

Bhopal: Amid an ongoing political drama in Madhya Pradesh, Governor Lalji Tandon on Saturday said floor test in the state Assembly will be held on March 16.

Earlier today, a BJP delegation led by former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the governor demanding floor test for the Kamal Nath-led government before the commencement of the Budget session of the Assembly.

Earlier on Saturday, the Congress issued a whip to all its MLAs for the legislative assembly session in Madhya Pradesh which is scheduled to be held from March 16 to April 13.

This comes after 22 Congress MLAs, including six ministers, tendered their resignation from the legislative assembly on March 10 soon after Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from the Congress ending his 18-year association with the party only to join the BJP.

Internal turf war acted as a spoiler
Ever since the grand old party formed the government in the state after 15 years it has been witnessing internal turf war between Scindia, Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh faction.

The rift between Scindia and Kamal Nath came out in the open after the former criticised the Chief Minister on several occasions.

Scindia on Friday filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh in the presence of several senior BJP leaders.
