BJP worker held for assaulting woman

Bareilly: A worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), identified as Jitendra Rastogi, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, the police said on Sunday. He is a resident of Khwaja Qutub at Biharipur in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. The woman Anuradha Rastogi lodged a complaint at the city police station against Jitendra on July 31 for allegedly assaulting her.

Earlier, Jitendra Rastogi, who was the state general secretary of Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Mandal, was expelled from the organisation. According to the president of the BJP’s city unit M Arora, Jitendra Rastogi is only a party worker.
