Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has kept away from the NITI Ayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. According to sources, because he recently recovered from Covid-19, he skipped the meeting. This has happened for the fourth time when Kumar has kept away from an event organised by the Centre since July 17. Earlier, he skipped the oath-taking ceremony of President Droupadi Murmu. Earlier in the day, a senior leader RCP Singh whose relationship with Kumar soured quit the Janata Dal (United).

Although Kumar stayed away from the NITI Ayog meeting, he was scheduled to attend a function organised on the occasion of the National Handloom Day. He did not attend a meeting held by Union minister Amit Shah with the chief ministers of all states in connection with the national flag. Aside from that, he gave wide berth to the farewell dinner hosted by Modi in honour of the outgoing President Ramnath Kovind.
