New Delhi: Well-known film director and writer Basu Chatterjee has passed away. Basu Chatterjee has died at the age of 93. The director died in his sleep at 8.30 am. He died today at his home in Santa Cruz, Mumbai.
According to the news, Basu Da had been ill for a long time and he already had diabetes and high blood pressure. He will be cremated at the crematorium in Santa Cruz.
Basu Da presented one to one unique films to fans in the 70s and 80s. Basu Da directed many films like chitchor, rajni, baton baton mein, us paar, chhoti si baat, khatta meetha, piya ka ghar, chakrvyuh, shaukeen, jeena yahan, priytama, swami, apne paraye and in the world of Hindi cinema he established his own distinct identity.
In 1969, he made his foray into the film world with the film Sara Akash. Prior to this film, he had worked as an assistant in the third episode with Raj Kapoor.
