Airtel to venture into video conferencing platform

Telecommunications company Airtel has tied up with Verizon-backed BlueJeans for introducing its video conferencing platform in India.

As per a recent report, Airtel BlueJeans will be provided to its enterprise customers. However, there is no official update by the company on this yet.

According to news reports, the Airtel BlueJeans will be provided with a free trial offer initially and the service will be started within 24 hours.

Airtel also has plans to offer customized services for its video conferencing platform.

The idea is to reduce the per call cost to 50 paise per call. Also, the platform will have Airtel Audio Bridge which will provide Indian/international local dial-in facility on an unlimited or pay-per-use model to customers.

Other interesting features that Airtel BlueJeans is supposed to support are HD video calling with Dolby Voice support, one-touch access to schedule, join and host meetings, ‘Smart Meetings’ feature and so on.

Airtel’s move to get into video conferencing domain comes days after Reliance Jio introduced JioMeet, which is giving competition to platforms such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
