Kolkata: The West Bengal government announced the imposition of a two-day full lockdown every week in the state amid rapidly rising cases of corona virus infection. State Chief Secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay said, “There will be complete lockdown in entire West Bengal on Thursday and Saturday this week.”

Let us tell you that with the arrival of 2,278 new cases of Corona virus infection in West Bengal, the total number of infected people increased to 42,487. According to the latest bulletin of the state health department, the death toll rose to 1,112 in the state after the death of 36 more patients due to this deadly virus.

The West Bengal government has included 63 more areas of the state in the “broad-based” prohibited area list. With this, the number of such areas in the state has increased to 739. A senior official gave this information on Sunday. In view of the prevention of spread of corona virus, strict lockdown is already in place in these areas. The official said that now the number of prohibited areas in Kolkata has increased from 24 to 32. The maximum corona virus cases of the state are being reported daily in this metropolis. The government had recently created a “broad-based” prohibited area by combining the prohibited area and the “buffer zone” surrounding it.
