New Delhi: On allegations of offering bribe by Congress MLA, former deputy CM Sachin Pilot said that he is ‘sad but not surprised’. The MLA, who joined the Congress from the BSP, accused Sachin Pilot of trying to bribe him to join the BJP. Pilot said that he would ‘take appropriate and strict legal action against the MLA’.
The former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan said that I am saddened by such allegations, but not surprised. He said that by doing this a conspiracy is being done to defame me. Actually, this is an attempt to divert attention from the real issues. Pilot said that I have been raising this issue and I will take appropriate legal action on the matter. He said that I stand by my beliefs. I have been accused of fabrication.
In fact, Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga on Monday accused rebel leader Sachin Pilot that he offered Rs 35 crore before the Rajya Sabha elections. Malinga also claimed that he had rejected the pilot’s “offer” and had informed Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot though the pilot denied the allegations.
Malinga said, “Sachin Pilot offered Rs 35 crore to rebel against Ashok Gehlot. The meeting took place at his residence. He moved the motion before the Rajya Sabha election and demanded change of sides.” A similar offer was made. I refused him and informed Ashok Gehlot. “
