India’s Q2FY22 current account deficit at $9.6 bn

The New Year 2022 celebrations have been restricted due to the spread of the Omicron virus. Metro cities are the main targets of the increasing cases and that is why more restrictions have been put up on cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and other metro cities. Omicron has also led to the rise of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in India and around the world.

Delhi sees over 1,700 new Covid cases, infection rate crosses 2%

On 31 December 2021, the last day of the year, there has been an increase in cases by 8,067 in Maharashtra and Delhi records 1,796 cases. Whether Maharashtra will see new lockdown restrictions in the state will be decided by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray soon. Also, a limit on the number of people has been made at weddings and other gatherings in the wake of Omicron’s spread in the state.

Omicron is a variant of coronavirus disease. COVID-19 is an infectious disease that has been caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The common symptoms caused by the new COVID-19 variant Omicron are cough, tiredness, fever, loss of taste or smell. It is said that Omicron is spreading faster than the other variants of COVID-19 disease. As per WHO’s information, Omicron will outpace the Delta variant where there is COVID-19 transmission in the community or groups. Thus, people need to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease with both doses, avoid crowds, stay at distance from others and wear masks properly.
