Other reasons like not putting up the masks properly and lowering them frequently, becoming a part of mass gatherings, crowded places and not following the hygienic norms of social distancing, washing hands, etc. also put children in the most vulnerable group. However, Dr. Lodha also stated that there has been no huge rise in the number of children getting infected as the complete number of cases has risen proportionately. Although in other countries, there is a steep rise in children getting hospitalized due to catching of the virus, in India hopefully things can be brought under control by taking vaccines at the proper time, wearing masks, and avoiding public places till the peak of the third wave gets settled down.
