Indian team announced for ODI series against South Africa

New Delhi: The BCCI announced the Indian team on Sunday for the three-match ODI series against South Africa starting on March 12. Three Indian star players have returned to the 15-man squad announced under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, star opener Shikhar Dhawan and fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar have returned to the Indian team for nearly 6 months away from the field due to injury.

Dhawan, Pandya and Bhubaneswar recently proved their fitness while playing in the DY Patil T20 Cup tournament.

But star opener Rohit Sharma, who did not play due to injury in the Test series against New Zealand in this team, has also been given rest for this series.

The matches of this ODI series will be played on March 12, 15 and 18. Batting responsibility for this ODI series has been given to Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli.

Manish Pandey, Shreyasar Iyer have been retained in the middle order. The role of an all-rounder includes Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Wicketkeeping is entrusted to Rishabh Pant.

The pace bowling has been given to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaspreet Bumrah and Navdeep Saini while the responsibility of spin will be on the shoulders of Yajuvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.
