Tehran: In Corona virus infection in Iran, 92 people have died while 2922 cases have been reported. Health Ministry spokesman Kianosh Jahanpur announced these new figures at a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday.
So far, more than 3,140 cases of the virus have been reported across West Asia. Most of the people who have confirmed the infection outside of Iran in the region have had contact with Iran in some way. The virus has sickened even the top leaders of Iran’s government and top Shia religious leaders.
Iran is the only country in this case where the government has also come under the grip of the virus, whereas this has not happened in the most affected China. The virus has infected more than 90,000 people worldwide and killed more than 3,100 people. Experts are concerned that Iran is under-reporting the infection.
Iraq said a 70-year-old maulana died on Wednesday from the corona virus. This is the first death due to this deadly infection in the country. There are currently 31 people infected with the corona virus in the country. A spokesman for the health department of the Northern Kurdish Autonomous Region said that Maulana was isolated in Suleimaniya before his death.
